Smart File Advisor, EncryptedRegView and System Restore
Are you having trouble opening a file in Windows? It could be something like a PDF, image or video file that Windows cannot open.
Smart File Advisor is a free application that helps you in identifying unknown file types and finds an appropriate program to open it. It works by replacing the native Window's association search feature and sending the first 20 bytes of the file to a database called "FileFacts".
In addition to this, Smart File Advisor is equipped with an MD5, SHA-1 and CRC32 checksum tool for verifying integrity of files you download from the Internet. The checksum tool can be launched by right clicking any file in Windows Explorer.
EncryptedRegView is a simple tool that can help you decrypt data stored in the Registry of your current running system or the one on an external hard drive you choose. It can also display the passwords and other encrypted data stored inside Credentials files on your system.
Malware detection:
Nowadays, computer malware is becoming more and more common, especially those that are designed to bypass the protection of anti-virus programs on your PC. These malwares are often bundled with freeware applications and can be difficult to remove.
System Restore:
System Restore is a utility that comes with all Windows operating systems and can be used to restore your system to a previous state, removing any unwanted program. Before using System Restore, you should backup your personal files and data.
